Primer Coatings
A primer is the foundational layer in any advanced multi-tier coating system. Applied directly to bare or chemically treated steel, its primary job is chemistry, not aesthetics.
The Function: It acts as a double-sided adhesive tape. It provides a chemical "bite" into the microscopic pores of the steel substrate, while creating an ideal surface for the final, colorful topcoat to grip onto. Zinc-rich primers also offer sacrificial rust protection.
