Galvanizing Tank

Often referred to in the industry as the "Zinc Kettle," the galvanizing tank is a heavily insulated, high-temperature vessel that holds molten liquid zinc at approximately 450°C (842°F)

Engineering Challenge: This tank must constantly withstand intense thermal expansion and the highly corrosive nature of liquid zinc. Modern kettles are typically fabricated from specialized low-carbon, low-silicon steel plates to prevent the molten zinc from eating through the tank walls.
