Entry/Exit Accumulator

To maintain a "Continuous" process, you cannot stop the mill every time a coil runs out. An accumulator (or looper) is a tower or pit system that stores a large "reserve" of steel strip. While the entry-end welder joins a new coil to the end of the old one, the mill continues to pull from the accumulator. This ensures that the tube forming and galvanizing stages never stop, maintaining the thermal and mechanical equilibrium of the entire line.
