Elasticity

In tube forming, elasticity is the material's tendency to return to its original flat shape after being rolled. This is known as springback. If an engineer miscalculates the elasticity of a specific grade of high-strength steel, the tube will not close properly at the weld seam, leading to dimensions that are out of tolerance.
