DOM Tubing (Drawn Over Mandrel)

DOM is a process, not a type of steel. It begins as an electric-resistance-welded (ERW) tube that is then cold-drawn through a die and over a mandrel. This "refines" the tube, virtually eliminating the weld seam and creating incredibly precise dimensions.

Think of it as "tuning" a musical instrument. The drawing process improves the steel's grain structure, increasing its hardness and tensile strength. For high-precision applications like hydraulic cylinders or automotive drive shafts, DOM is the gold standard because of its superior concentricity and smooth surface finish.
