Ovality is a measure of the tube’s deviation from a perfect circle, calculated as the difference between the maximum and minimum measured diameters at a single cross-section. In high-precision fabrication, excessive ovality makes notching, hemming, and robotic assembly nearly impossible. It is usually corrected during the "Sizing" and "Straightening" stages of the mill.
