Forging

Written by Superior Technologies | 2026.02.26

Forging is the process of shaping metal using localized compressive forces. Unlike casting, which destroys the metal's internal "grain," forging actually aligns and compacts the grain flow to follow the shape of the part. This makes forged components—such as crankshafts or high-pressure fittings—significantly stronger and more resistant to fatigue than cast or machined parts.
